National Museum of Singapore: Dislocations

As part of the National Museum of Singapore, Dislocations is an exhibition to mark the 80th anniversary of the British Surrender to the Imperial Japanese Army in Singapore on 15 February 1942.

It features a blend of physical objects, documents and oral histories woven into specially designed spaces meant to evoke reflections and conversations among visitors, as they explore the notion of “war memory” and the different ways it can be remembered and retold.

As part of the exhibition, our team was responsible for creating interactive social media content, aimed at promoting engagement and fostering discussion among visitors. We developed five unique Instagram and TikTok stories, each recreating a specific moment from the memory of the war.

This project showcases our ability to blend historical research and storytelling with modern digital media to create engaging experiences for museum audiences.

The Visuals

Each of these videos tapped into an existing memory and time during the occupation. Giving audiences a full immersive experience, it is animated in a subtle manner and the sounds were added to these videos for extra ambience.
